The Powerful Solution… is understanding.

Knowledge always leads to power. Your power to create beautiful, soft, clear skin is in your understanding how. With each easy step you will be getting closer to the skin you want to have. Unfortunately, the profit making giants of the skincare industry aren't always honest. You can be certain, more often than not, the information you are being told isn't always what's best for your health or your skin.

What can you expect?

  1. Skincare products designed for cheap manufacturing, containing toxic chemicals linked to breast cancer and other cancers.
  2. You will be offered “natural,” “certified organic” labels with products that are laden with toxic chemicals.
  3. Celebrities will be paid huge sums of money to endorse products that are damaging to your ski
  4. You can expect to pay 100s of dollars for products that have petrochemicals as the first 3 ingredients and be told this product is the answer to dryness and ageing.
  5. You will be given hundreds of solutions and thousands of products to continue choosing from, the smorgasbord is never ending. The solution is always in your next purchase.
  6. You will be told what you eat has nothing to do with the ageing process or acne, breakouts, pimples. The one most powerful health giving tool you have is what you put in your mouth each day and you will be told not to look there, look here! You will be given injections and sometimes even pharmaceutical drugs.

If you don’t understand you will be a victim of an industry whose only interest is their stockbrokers.

Your skin is a messenger when you begin to understand how to listen to what it is telling you. The real key is to learn the language.

When things have gone astray with your skin, it’s time to start listening. Your skin is telling you that whatever it is you’re doing, isn’t working. So the purpose of listening then becomes a gauge of the results your previous decisions are creating.

There are two sets of decisions.

Firstly, there are your lifestyle decisions. Decisions about what you eat, what you drink, how much sun you get, whether you exercise, whether you stretch, what you spend your days thinking about, whether that be positive or negative. That’s all lifestyle stuff.

Then secondly, there’s skincare. Which do you use? How often and how much?

When it comes to your lifestyle, there are many misconceptions. For example, you may stay out of the sun with the fear of damaging your skin, not knowing that sun is wonderful for your skin, but too much is not. You may eat and incredibly low fat diet, not knowing that fats are vital nutrients.

Well the same goes for skincare. The more you know about skincare, the more you are empowered to choose effectively.

Most brands not only have an excess of products, but they are continually bringing out new products all the time. Why would this be?

Well particularly with the big brands that have been around for literally decades, you would think they would have worked it out by now; found the best formulation and stuck with it. I mean we’re talking some of the biggest companies in the world!

Wouldn’t they have come to some sort of conclusion that this product clearly works better than this one? Well yes, of course, if the results for your skin were their number one priority.

Unfortunately, that comes secondary to commerce.

What happens if you try a product and don’t see any real improvement in the condition of your skin?

Most people continue to use the product for a while assuming it must be doing something. It says on the jar “Anti-Ageing Cream” so it must be doing something, right?

Well, for a start, this is the wrong approach. If a skincare doesn’t work within a week, don’t use it!

How much McDonalds are you going to eat before you see you’re not getting healthier? Most people, when the product runs out will go out looking to try something else, which is good, but still leaves the solution elusive and hard to find.

The companies don’t want you to try a different brand, even though brand churning is an inevitable part of the equation at some point, so they bring out new products for you to try. After all, if the cream you tried was the only option, chances are you wouldn’t come back. It is also important to know that the majority of skincare lines are owned by one or two of the world’s largest corporations. They don’t mind if you swing, because they probably own the product range you are swinging towards.

Wherever you look, you’re generally looking at L’Oreal. They own almost everything.

You might not use L’Oreal. You might use Lancôme or perhaps Yves Saint Laurent. All owned by L’Oreal.

How about Biotherm or Maybelline or Skinceuticals? All L’Oreal.

Or Garnier for your hair, or Redken or Skin Naturals or… the list goes on and on. All L’Oreal.

Perhaps you like “natural” products and want to save the environment and help kids in Africa. That’s why you go to The Body Shop, right? Owned by L’Oreal.

What about those Diesel jeans or that Giorgio Armani watch or your Ralph Lauren jacket? All owned by L’Oreal.

Now this is not to say that people don’t re-purchase products. It’s all on a sliding scale. Some are avid fans; others brand swingers and others in between. But the reason that real, long term skin solutions are mysterious and hard to find is twofold…

Firstly, there is a discrepancy between what is promised and what is delivered. When we see an advertisement or piece of marketing material stating a claim, we know in our heart of hearts that chances are it’s not going to do what it says. We know it’s exaggerated. But we live in hope that maybe we’ll get some level of result.

This difference, the difference between what’s promised and what’s delivered, makes it difficult to find a skin solution that really works.

The second element, which we’ve discussed before, is that almost all skincare products are designed for long term shelf life and economical ingredient listings. This puts the entire goal of skincare, which should be to truly nurture and heal human skin cells, at odds with the commercial goals of the skincare company.

It’s no doubt so many consumers feel perplexed in their continuous search for the solution that really works long term consistently.

There’s intelligence in your skin that needs to be matched by your skincare. Otherwise you’re taking away from the intelligence, rather than adding to it.

Here’s where Living Skincare comes in.
